Cambrian Mountains · Mid Wales
About This Route
The Teifi Valley Trail is a long-distance walking route that follows the journey of the River Teifi from its remote upland source at the Teifi Pools in the Cambrian Mountains all the way to the coast where the river meets the sea. Along the way, the trail passes through an ever-changing landscape of wild mountain terrain, ancient woodland, rolling farmland, riverside paths, and the internationally important wetlands of Cors Caron National Nature Reserve.
The route offers a slower, more immersive way to experience Mid and West Wales, connecting walkers with the wildlife, history, culture, and communities of the Teifi Valley. From quiet rural villages and market towns to local cafés, pubs, accommodation providers, and independent artisans, the trail showcases the character and hospitality of the region while providing a varied and rewarding walking experience through one of Wales’ most diverse landscapes.
